We're called Ordgeist because we love all that the written and living word can do! We're a unique blend of a bookshop, an antiquarian bookshop, a café, a stage for music, author talks and literary experiences all in one special place.
Café Ordgeist is like your living room in the centre of Aalborg, where the glow and joy of words come first! We have created a very special space that feels cosy and homely in the heart of the capital of Northern Jutland.
Come and enjoy a well-deserved break. Drink a coffee. Eat a delicious sourdough bun. All while reading a book or listening to a lecture or story.
We create unique events that cut across art forms and genres. Often the word as an art form takes centre stage, but we love to mix things up in a special way: that's why you can experience everything from book bingo, sing-alongs, jazz, rap and pop concerts, improv theatre, poetry slam, open mic (in our case: ‘open Mike’) and more.
Our café menu consists of light dishes such as sourdough buns with cheese, jam and butter, avocado toast and tapas dishes. We make speciality coffees on an Italian coffee machine and all our coffee is organic, as are over 65% of our food and drinks.
